ABOUT US

The Gem State Rodeo Association is a youth rodeo organization located in Southwestern Idaho. The association has approximately 150 members which are divided into eight divisions. Here is a list of each age group and their respective events.

Mini Mite Girls (age 7 & Under):

Dummy Roping, Barrels, Figure 8, Goat Flanking 

Mini Mite Boys (age 7 & under):

Dummy Roping, Flag Race, Figure 8, Goat Flanking

Pee Wee Girls (age 8-10):

Barrels, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping (with adult)

Pee Wee Boys (age 8-10):

Flag Race, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Calf Riding, Team Roping (with adult)

Junior Girls (age 11-13):

Barrels, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping

Junior Boys (age 11-13):

Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Calf Tying, Steer Riding, Double Mugging Tie Down (with adult)

Senior Girls (14- eligible age of High School Rodeo):

Barrels, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping

Senior Boys (14- eligible age of High School Rodeo): 

Steer Wrestling, Chute Dogging, Tie Down Roping, Team Roping, Cow Riding

 

The season consists of seven rodeos held throughout the Treasure Valley, usually beginning in May and ending with the Finals in late August.

About

How to join:

1. Print and complete membership form.

2. Get membership form notarized.

3. New members will need to provide a copy of their birth certificate.

4. Mail required documents to name & address on form.

5. All members need to bring in $150 in sponsorship money, due by June 1.

NOTE: June 1 is the last day to become a Member. After June 1, you'll have to enter as a non-member

Member:

2. Mail Entry Form & check at least 15 days prior to the rodeo. No late entries.

Non-Member

1. Print & complete Non-Member Entry Form.

Mail Entry Form & check, including Non-Member Fee, at least 15 days prior to the rodeo. No late entries.

How to help:

We are always looking for volunteers to help make the rodeos run smooth & efficient. If you would like to help, please contact a Board Member or Event Director, prior to the rodeo. We appreciate everyone's help!
